Stay a while!
It's official... You get a killer deal when you stay and enjoy your coffee in a warm ceramic mug at The Hub. Not only do you look cool with a retro diner mug in hand, but you save lotsa money, honey! $2 (that's it?!?) and you get to slurp down up to 16 oz of some of the tastiest coffee bean liquer that Reno has to offer.
This we refer to as our in-house refill policy: buy a $2 8 oz cup of French-pressed coffee (to stay!) and we'll give you a free refill. Full price to refill a paper cup. That's that.
Come drink with us and stay a while. It's worth the two bucks.

More Summer news!
Toddy iced coffee is a stable part of our summer menu now. Always smooth and refreshing, and heavily caffeinated. If you're not familiar with the Toddy brewing method, get the scoop here: http://www.toddycafe.com.
We also have a rotating selection of iced tea, from Oolong to Green and often some herbal tea options.
Don't forget we're now open until 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Come sip down some Toddy along with the sun!
Mark has taken a little trip out to Fallon to visit our friends at Coffee PER, the company behind the San Franciscan coffee roaster that we are having built for our new roasting operation. We have quite a bit of green (un-roasted) coffee left over after our trial runs with the small sample roaster (a San Franciscan model as well) in April and May, but since we've been unable to roast on that particular sample roaster we have been sitting on a few bags of green coffee. So Mark is commandeering a roaster for the day and we'll have some fabulous, Hub-roasted coffee for the masses over the coming days. Get in here and try/buy some while it lasts!!!
We'll be open on the 4th of July from 6-3 p.m. Stop by for your fix so you can stay awake long enough to see some fireworks.

Roastery and other Summer news
We can see the Hub Coffee Roastery just breaking the horizon. We're shooting for July to get things in motion, and by August we hope to be full speed at a wonderful location just behind The Lincoln Lounge at 4th and Evans, near the Reno Aces ballpark.
In the meantime, we'll have some amazing coffees to offer from the roasters we've been working with over the past two years: Ecco Caffe, Intelligentsia, etc.
Central American coffees of the current year's harvest are now being received by roasters all over, so we'll have some delicious Latin offerings for you in the coming month: a tasty Colombian from De La Paz, an organic Bolivian coffee of the Las Yungas region from Ecco Caffe, and so many more.
Currently, we have the organic Bolivia from Ecco available by way of Chemex, a filtered brewing method that highlights sweetness while providing a clean cup of coffee laced with delicate varietal nuance. In the Bolivia Las Yungas, melon candy notes mingle alongside warm apple, surprisingly refreshing on a hot summer day, while maintaining a deeper, rich characteristic so often desired in a cup of well-brewed coffee.

Ethiopia Nigusie Lemma, dry process
It's a mouthful... a tasty mouthful. Ethiopia Nigusie Lemma - our newest coffee being roasted on the San Franciscan at the boss' garage. Dry-processed coffees skip a certain "washing" step in the production process on the coffee farm. The coffee is laid out on large patios to dry in the sun, essentially allowing to sun's radiant power to "clean" the mucilage of the coffee cherry off of the beans. Dry-processed coffees boast sticky, fruity flavors that we like to call "jammy" with a muted acidity; earthy and chocolate notes are also present.
This particular coffee reminds us of toast, chocolate, and something between grape and blueberry jam!
Ask the guys and gals at the shop when there will be some available to drink or take home to enjoy! $14 for 12 oz. You're tastebuds will tell you it's a steal.

Hub Coffee Roasters
We're getting more and more into it! We've just received our second shipment of green (unroasted) coffee from a quality source, and we're roasting it all on our tiny one pound San Franciscan.
So far, we've achieved roasts on two coffees from Ethiopia and Sulawesi that we are pretty happy about. Clearly, you agree, because you all bought up our entire stock of the Ethiopia Wollega Leka Wato in a matter of weeks!
Stay tuned for more, and be sure to stop by to see about our Sulawesi Toarco Jaya, as well as a new dry processed Ethiopian coffee that has already begun to wow our tastebuds.

We're still here!
Still making tasty coffee at 32 Cheney St.
And we've received our little mini coffee roaster. That means we're entering the first phases of our very own roasting operation at The Hub! Hub-roasted coffee is on the way!

Coffee haps...
We're wranglin' in a solid rotation of coffees from all of the fabulous roasters we work with... Barefoot Coffee out of San Jose, CA; Ecco Caffé out of Santa Rosa, CA; Intelligentsia Coffee out of Los Angeles, CA; maybe more to come?!
Anyhow, stay up to date. We can guarantee, however, that whatever it is that we have to offer, it will be roasted with care, brewed with superior taste in mind, and handed to you with a smile!
